I really like this picture! The lighting makes the viewer feel like it is very late and sort of makes them feel tired, and all the books and the computer make it obvious that the subject has had an overload of homework. I also thought the ipod was a nice touch because it shows that the subject is just your average teenager who will listen to music as they work.

After analyzing this picture, I can see that it tries to tell the viewer of a hard day filled with homework that the subject is facing. This is most likely a close-up shot since it focuses on the homework, and still has the appearance of the teenager. It captures the environment to hint to us that the teenager is doing their homework, most likely procrastinating, which causes them to cram and leads to a late night work where they got so bored they went to sleep. The capture of the computer screen on spark notes tells us that the teenager might even rely on cheating because she can't do her homework. This is a great example showing that procrastinating might lead teenagers to cheating. The use of lighting makes it seem like its late night and the reader is tired which tells "time." The lighting informs the viewers that its a tiring day, but is their to imply that the teenager has crammed and is the reason why they are up so late. The capture of the Ipod in the picture tells us this is most likely an all average teenager who listens to music, which adds to the natural set of it. The camera angle is neutral angle that is used in order to capture all of the environment. Great picture, shows Mrs. Froehlich what an average student of hers has to go through. Just kidding if you read that last sentence Mrs. Froehlich.

I think that the composition of this photo is interesting in that the subject is not in the center of the photo, the computer and book are, which takes focus off of the subject. The use of a flat angle makes us feel like we are right there experiencing the same fatigue as the subject, we are right on the subject's level. Because there is a 50/50 split between the environment and the subject this is a medium shot, this is interesting in that even though it is technically a 50/50 split, it doesnt feel like that because the subject is shoved off to one side and does not share the focus of the picture. I think that the most important aspect of this photo is the lighting, because the extreme shadow that envelops the subject gives a sense that the subject is insignificant and not in the action. The source of light is unnatural, and it blares on the book, telling us that it was the main focus of the scene and might have caused the crumbling of the subject. The computer is also a source of light and well lit, though it is a little dull, going along with the dull theme of this whole picture.

It seems like this person's day has been packed and now she is just trying to finish the last bit of homework. It is very dark out so it shows that she is up late. This is a medium shot because you can see the subject and you can also see the backround. On the computor screen you can see it is sparknotes another clue that she is last minute studying. This picture also symbolizes multi-tasking, as you can see the subject is reading, on sparknotes, listening to her ipod. The two lit up things in this picture is the book and the computor screen, this makes the viewer focus in on those two things and the girl is king of in the shadows.
